a month before take-off: visa drama and no school

Well i hope when I actually leave i will be able to keep up with this blog better...
So the new information I have received since my last blog is my city/mi ciudad, my family/mi familia, and my school/ mi escuela. I will be living in Calera de Tango and going to school in a Catholic school. I will be a very new experience; I'm not religious at all and i have never had to wear a uniform to school (especially red).

Visa update: I STILL DO NOT HAVE IT!!! For any AFS applicant or possible applicants DO NOT WAIT FOR INFORMATION FROM YOUR VISA COORDINATOR! Tuned out that for my visa I needed to get a FBI report. For this process they usually request 8-10 weeks and since they were backed up who knows when I will be getting it back and then the Chilean Embassy will still have to process. We ended up getting a state police report and sending that to the Chilean Embassy so they could start processing. But never the less, LOOK UP THE VISA PROCESS AS SOON AS YOU GET YOUR COUNTRY ASSIGNMENT!

On a different note if you are interested in what I am doing now then you are in luck, now I will share. To start I am not in school. Thats right, every high schoolers dream, I'm living it. Truthfully I don't think I could deal with the emotional pressure of school right now. Some of the classes I was taking last semester were so demanding of my time and energy I felt like I couldn't do anything else.
Because I am not in school right now I need to finish the second semester of United States history online unless I want to take a 11th grade class as a senior while I'm getting ready to leave home. And I do not. So I am taking it now. There are 9 lessons and I have done 3 1/2 so far. Other than the class I have re-found my love for reading so I am almost through with the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan and I don't want it to end. I also read Milkweed by Jerry Spinelli which is beautifully written novel about a boy in Warsaw, Poland during Hitler's invasion. I also am playing volleyball in the Boulder woman's league 3 times a week and on the other days I try to get out and go for a run or hike. And don't worry, I am not super lonely, I still can hang out with my friends on weekends and sometimes I go to school during their lunch period.
That is all I have for now folks! Thanks for reading!
